The Great Integration is an informative label describing the phase—around 2025-2026—in which artificial intelligence stops being an isolated tool and is integrated transversally into processes, products, and jobs across virtually all sectors.

It is not an academic term, nor does it originate from a specific MIT report. In fact, MIT Sloan has characterized 2026 more as a "level-set year" (a year for adjusting expectations) and has pointed out the so-called "GenAI Divide": the gap between companies that derive real value from AI and those that do not. The term should be used with that caution: it reflects a trend, not an official classification.
