NAiOS CAD
naios-cadv0.2.1CAD drawing viewer: upload a DWG or DXF from AutoCAD and view it with its layers, measure distances and areas, search for text, export to PNG or PDF, and ask the chat what the drawing contains.
Description
A CAD project is a folder of drawings. Upload one or several DWG or DXF files (AutoCAD, BricsCAD, LibreCAD, DraftSight…) and the module reads them: units, extents, layers with their color, blocks, entity types, texts and dimensions, layouts, and warnings (missing external references, SHX fonts, projected 3D entities). DWG files are converted to DXF in your own browser with LibreDWG (the file never leaves for any external service) and the original DWG is kept. Each drawing opens in a 2D viewer with a layers panel (show/hide), zoom, pan, white or black background, distance and area measurement in drawing units and in meters, text search that centers the view on the result, and export of the current view to PNG or vector PDF. From the chat, attaching a .dxf creates the drawing in your “From chat” project and the model receives its summary (a .dwg is saved as pending and converted when you open CAD). The cad_* tools answer questions like “What rooms does the plan have?”, “Where is the electrical panel?” or “How big is it?”.
Features (8)
Group the drawings of the same job or commission into one project; each DXF is a drawing with its own summary.
DWG files are converted in your browser with LibreDWG: the drawing never goes to any external service and the original is kept.
Layers panel with each layer's color; show or hide each one; turned-off and frozen layers load that way.
Distances and areas in drawing units and in meters, with snapping to vertices.
Type “electrical panel” or “bathroom” and the viewer takes you to the title block.
Export the current view to an image or a vector PDF with the visible layers.
Share each project with the people you choose, either view-only or editable.
Attach the DXF and ask: the model receives the summary and the cad_* tools answer about layers, texts, and measurements.
Changelog
- AutoCAD tables (ACAD_TABLE): they are drawn with their geometry block at their position and rotation, and their texts are included in the search and in what the chat reads. If the file contains the table without a block but with rows and columns, the grid is drawn with the cell texts. Tables that arrive without a position (DXF files generated by LibreDWG from a DWG) produce a specific warning instead of “unsupported entity”.
